JONATHAN E. BARRISH
earned his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in
1992 and a BA degree with honors from Northwestern University, Evanston,
Illinois, in 1989. His bar admissions include the Illinois State
Bar, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Northern District of
Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar. He is
also a member of the American Bar Association.
Mr. Barrish has extensive experience representing clients in workers’
compensation cases before the Illinois Industrial Commission, the
Circuit Court and the Illinois Appellate Court. Mr. Barrish also
has experience in environmental litigation, toxic tort litigation,
construction litigation, employers’ liability and appellate
practice.
His accomplishments include serving as First Chair for numerous
trials, and representing a leading national non-profit organization
in workers’ compensation cases as well as one of the nations’
largest specialty contractors. He has also given seminars on various
topics within workers’ compensation law.
He is the author of a handbook for a seminar he gave in May of 2004
entitled: “Asbestos Claims under the Occupational Diseases
and Workers’ Compensation Acts.” His reported cases
include: Cianci v. Safeco Insurance Company of Illinois,
356 Ill. App. 3d 767, 826 N.E.2d 548 (2005); and Jose Garcia v.
Four Seasons Hotel, 97 IIC 1046.
