ALAN I. BECKER
received his undergraduate degree cum laude from Cornell University
in 1967 and his law degree from The Yale Law School in 1970. He
is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He is a member of the Trial Bar
of the United States District Court for the Northern District
of Illinois and is admitted to practice before the United States
District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and the
Northern District of California, the United States Courts of Appeal
for the Fifth, Seventh, Ninth and Federal Circuits, and the United
States Supreme Court.
He serves as a certified chairperson - arbitrator in the Mandatory
Arbitration Program of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Mr. Becker
litigates a wide range of business matters, often involving sophisticated
scientific or financial issues; food, drug and medical device
matters, intellectual property matters; insurance coverage actions;
and product liability defense. He also has extensive antitrust
experience. Mr. Becker is a member of the Defense Research Institute
and has tried cases in federal courts throughout the United States
and in Illinois and other state courts.
Mr. Becker has been recognized by his peers in both the Illinois
Super Lawyers and Leading Lawyers surveys and he has been a featured
guest on Sky Radio. He serves on the Board of Directors (and is
past Chairman) of Lifelink Corporation, a long-established charitable
organization, and he is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.
