THOMAS F. BRINK
was born in New York, New York and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut. He received his bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science (double major) from Furman University in 1989 and his law degree (J.D.) in 2000 from Stetson University College of Law where he received a certificate of concentration in Elder Law. While at Stetson, he interned with the Florida Attorney General’s office working in the Economic Crimes and Elder Protection divisions and clerked in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit for the Honorable Judge Gregory P. Holder. Mr. Brink also interned with Florida State Senator John Grant in the Statewide Public Guardianship Office and later served as the Deputy Director of that state agency.
Mr. Brink is a member of the Florida Bar and Hillsborough County Bar Association. Mr. Brink was also a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity, the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute and the American Bar Association where he served as co-chairman in 2003 of the Elder law division of the Litigation Section. Mr. Brink is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts. Prior to law school, Mr. Brink worked for almost eleven years as an all-lines licensed insurance adjuster handling major losses for Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company. In 2004 and again in 2005, Mr. Brink was selected by the Florida Trend Magazine as one of the state’s 40 “Best Up-and-Coming Attorneys” in a statewide poll to determine the “Florida Legal Elite.” He has extensive experience in first and third party litigation, including bad faith, and currently concentrates his practice in the areas of general liability, professional and executive liability, premises liability, property, subrogation and errors and omissions. Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo LLP, he served as staff counsel for CNA Insurance for nearly five years. Mr. Brink is also an Adjunct Professor of law at Stetson University College of Law where he teaches classes in Interviewing, Counseling and Negotiation.
