RICHARD C. CAVO
attended Niagara University and St. Lawrence University, where
he obtained a bachelors degree with honors in 1980. He received
his law degree from St. Johns University School of Law in New
York City in 1984, where he was a St. Thomas More Scholar and
a member of the Law Review.
Mr. Cavo served in the Westchester County New York District Attorney's
office, and then joined a New York firm defending environmental
and other complex insurance coverage actions. In 1988, he joined
Aetna Casualty & Surety Company as claim counsel for major
litigation, including environmental, latent health, products liability
and construction litigation.
Mr. Cavo represented Aetna in the Insurance Environmental Litigation
Association and served as its Vice-Chair during 1994-1996 before
being elected its Chairman in 1996-1997. While at Aetna from 1988
to 1996, Mr. Cavo was recognized for his accomplishments, including
his receipt of the Chairman's Award, the highest distinction given
by Aetna to an employee.

He is also admitted to practice before the United States Circuit
Court for the Second Circuit. Mr. Cavo is the resident partner
in Litchfield Cavo LLP's Connecticut office.
