CARRIE A. DURKIN
received her undergraduate degree in 1971 from Colby College,
with honors for graduating comprehensives, and her law degree
with highest honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1979.
She then served as a law clerk to Justice John J. Stamos. Ms.
Durkin is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois; Federal
District Courts in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin; and the U.S.
Courts of Appeal for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits. She is also
a member of the trial bar for the Northern District of Illinois.
Ms. Durkin currently represents, among others, a variety of not
for profit entities, such as homeowner and condominium associations,
private country clubs, and the Girl Scouts in corporate matters
and litigation. She also represents for profits entities, such
as law firms and real estate agencies, in E&O/D&O litigation.
Previously, Ms. Durkin was with Aon Corporation where she appeared
as lead counsel in over 20 jurisdictions, litigating broker error
and omission, director and officer liability, construction defect,
business tort, employment practices, and adversary bankruptcy
actions.
Ms. Durkin has published and lectured on bankruptcy, contract
administration, landlord/lender remedies, expert witness examination,
risk management, and employment practices. Ms. Durkin was honored
as Chicago Top Flite Woman of the Year.
