EDWARD C. HSU
Edward’s practice includes a diverse
range of commercial litigation, including the defense of insureds
in products, professional and executive liability as well as negligence
matters. His prior experience includes complex toxic tort and
insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. In 2008, he drafted
and filed a respondent’s brief with the California Court
of Appeal for the First District that resulted in the first reported
California decision recognizing that the social utility of the
defendant’s conduct was a relevant factor in determining
whether to impose a duty to warn upon a product manufacturer.
During law school, Edward was an Articles
Editor for the UCLA Entertainment Law Review and won
an Outstanding Brief Writer award in the 2004 UCLA Moot Court
Competition. He worked as a law clerk for over a year at the Government
Benefits Unit of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, where
he assisted with a wide range of matters, including healthcare,
public housing, child support, and student loan fraud. He also
interned with a news program produced by a Time Warner subsidiary,
where he developed experience with a variety of issues in entertainment,
