DANIEL
T. HUGHES
is a 1975 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross. He received his MBA from St. John’s University and graduated from that university’s law school in 1981. A member of both New York and Connecticut State Bars, he is admitted to practice in the United States Courts for the District of Connecticut, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo LLP, Mr. Hughes specialized in representing attorneys in legal malpractice lawsuits. He handles employment discrimination cases and lectures on EEOC compliance for firm clients. Mr. Hughes additionally litigates a wide range of environmental matters including lead paint, toxic exposure and oil spill cases.

Mr. Hughes has tried numerous cases in State and Federal Courts as well as argue appeals throughout New York’s appellate system. He recently represented a gun manufacturer in landmark litigation in the Eastern District of New York. In addition, Mr. Hughes is a guest lecturer at Brooklyn Law School.
Mr. Hughes has served as National Litigation Manager for the Home Insurance Company where he earned a Certified Property and Casualty Underwriter designation. He has counseled insurers on litigation management issues including dispute resolution techniques.
