MATTHEW J. IVERSON
received his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin where he was elected to a number of honorary societies, including Phi Beta Kappa. He also attended law school at the University of Wisconsin where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Wisconsin Law Review. Mr. Iverson is a member of the bar of Illinois, the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the bars of the Courts of Appeals for the Seventh, Eighth and Tenth Circuits. Mr. Iverson throughout his career has been active in professional and civic organizations including the Chicago Bar Association, where he has served on the Board of Managers and as Chairperson of its Judicial Evaluation Committee, and the Union League Club of Chicago, where he has served on its Board of Directors and as Chairperson of its Public Affairs Committee.
He has lectured on professional liability and medical device topics before a number of forums including the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Illinois Society of CPA's. He has also played a principal role in authoring and appearing in continuing professional education video cassettes on professional liability topics which have been distributed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Iverson has served as national coordinating defense counsel for two different manufacturers sued around the country in product liability litigation involving medical devices. In addition, Mr. Iverson's practice emphasizes other complex civil litigation including professional malpractice litigation (in particular defending accountants or lawyers), insurance litigation, securities and commodities litigation, and general business litigation.
