JOHN D. SHEA
received his Bachelors degree from Dartmouth College
in 1987 and his law degree from Widener University School of Law
in 1994. Mr. Shea has focused his practice in all areas of commercial
litigation including the defense of insureds in toxic tort, product
liability, premises liability, construction defect, trucking and
other negligence matters. Mr. Shea has extensive experience in
representing insurers in complex environmental and toxic tort
insurance coverage disputes, including several widely publicized
and commercially significant suits involving bankruptcy matters.
Mr. Shea is admitted to practice in the state courts of New Jersey,
Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. He is also admitted to practice
in the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey,
the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the District
of Massachusetts. Mr. Shea’s practice is national in scope
and he has, in recent years, handled litigation in Delaware, Georgia,
Illinois, Missouri, Ohio and Texas.
Mr. Shea was recently selected as one of the top lawyers under
forty by a Philadelphia legal publication. He is a resident Partner
in Litchfield Cavo LLP’s New Jersey/Philadelphia office.
