CHRISTOPHER J. SOCHACKI
Chris focuses his practice on fire and explosion
litigation as well as emergency management and emergency response
consultation and litigation. Chris also has extensive litigation
experience in the areas of product liability defense, personal
injury defense, executive, professional and employers liability
defense, contractor liability, legal malpractice, and real estate
error and omissions. He has litigated cases before the Connecticut
state and federal courts, as well as before Connecticut administrative
agencies. Before law school, Chris was employed by the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts as a social worker for the Division of Medical
Assistance.
Chris is certified by the state of Connecticut
as a firefighter and as a nationally-registered emergency medical
technician (EMT-B). Chris is a firefighter for the Nepaug and
Pine Meadow Fire Departments and serves as an executive board
member for the New Hartford Volunteer Ambulance, Inc. His emergency
medical and fire training has covered emergency management and
response guidelines and standards, fire/explosion cause and origin
investigation, fire/explosion science, fire/safety code analysis
and building construction analysis, including how construction
materials are intended to react to fires and/or explosions. Chris
is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
He is also certified in hazardous materials (HazMat) operations
and under FEMA's National Incident Management System.
