SCOTT D. STEPHENSON
received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Missouri in 1983 and his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 1986. Mr. Stephenson was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1987 and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1989 where he is a member of the trial bar. Mr. Stephenson is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of Illinois. Mr. Stephenson is a graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy.

Mr. Stephenson concentrates his practice in insurance defense where he has extensive experience in the litigation of construction, products liability, premises liability, automobile liability, medical malpractice and nursing home negligence cases. Mr. Stephenson has tried cases to verdict in both the state and federal courts in Illinois. In addition to his trial experience, Mr. Stephenson has successfully utilized alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration in his practice. Mr. Stephenson also serves as a certified chairperson-arbitrator in the Mandatory Arbitration Program of the Circuit Court of Cook County.

Mr. Stephenson is an active member of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel where he has served on the Spring Seminar Committee. In addition, Mr. Stephenson is a member of the Defense Research Institute.
