MATTHEW D. WALKER
received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 1994, and his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1997. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Indiana State Courts, the Federal Court of the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Walker joined Litchfield Cavo LLP in 1999. He focuses his practice in the litigation of complex products liability, commercial and insurance coverage matters in both state and federal court. His products liability experience has included the defense of a leading foreign industrial equipment manufacturer in numerous matters in state and federal court. He has also represented various clients in complex commercial matters such as multi million dollar business interruption losses, breach of contract actions, UCC Article 2 and Article 3 claims, bad faith/extra-contractual liability claims, insurance coverage disputes and fire loss claims.
Mr. Walker has had valuable trial experience, successfully defending several cases at trial in Illinois State Courts in Cook and Lake Counties which involved serious personal injuries and high demands for damages. He has also handled appeals in the Federal 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and the First and Second District Appellate Courts for the State of Illinois.
He is a member of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel and the Defense Research Institute.
