Tamar Lanuza Hagopian

Tamar has practiced law in Massachusetts and California for the past fifteen years and concentrates her practice on complex civil litigation, particularly products liability, business litigation, general liability and employment litigation. She has successfully represented clients in state and federal courts, before administrative bodies such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and in alternative dispute resolution. Tamar has extensive experience defending manufacturers and suppliers in product liability litigation, including chemical products, asbestos, motor vehicles, marine equipment, construction equipment, manufacturing equipment, dietary supplements, plastics, and other products cases.

Tamar's practice also includes the defense of corporations, partnerships, non-profits, insurance companies and individuals in premises liability, employment litigation, and general liability matters.  She has defended private and non-profit employers and staffing agencies in employment-related matters including wrongful termination, failure to hire, sex discrimination, age discrimination, national origin discrimination, handicap discrimination, contractual disputes, retaliation, and wage and hour claims. She also has experience counseling companies on various employment matters, including the drafting and implementation of company policies and marketing materials, wage and hour issues, employee classification, and litigation avoidance. She handles all aspects of case work-up and trial preparation, including fact investigation, discovery, dispositive motions, and development of defense and trial strategies. Tamar manages litigation in a cost-effective manner and has resolved numerous cases through dispositive motion, mediation, and informal settlement negotiation.

Tamar was named as a Massachusetts Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.  Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the Commonwealth are selected to receive this honor.  Tamar was also recognized as one of Massachusetts’ Top Women Lawyers by Super Lawyers and Boston Magazine in 2016. Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo, Tamar was a Member/Partner in the Boston office of a national law firm.
