Tory F. Taylor

Tory has successfully represented both entities and individuals in high exposure commercial and tort litigation. His experience includes insurance defense, self-insureds, and non-insurance matters.  Tory's primary practice areas include trucking, premises/Dram Shop, products liability, construction defect/property, professional and executive liability (medical malpractice/Director and Officer), coverage issues/bad faith and all areas of contract litigation.  He also represents and advises businesses in aspects of labor and employment issues, including reductions in force, EEOC/TWC claims, DOL investigations, non-compete litigation and policy and procedure development.

Because of his extensive insurance defense background, Tory is extremely knowledgeable in analysis of insurance policies, and has defended many insurers in bad-faith cases, as well as provided coverage analysis and opinions.  His practice includes assistance with excess insurance carriers in either monitoring high exposure cases and advising carriers on potential exposure (responding to Stowers’ Demands) or assuming litigation from other carriers/defense firms.

His defense of both publicly traded companies and individuals involves both state and federal courts. Tory has tried cases throughout the state of Texas, from the Panhandle to the "Valley," as well as handling litigation in contiguous states. Additionally, he has successfully argued cases before various Texas Courts of Appeal, as well as the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Tory also served as adjunct professor and varsity Mock Trial coach at South Texas College of Law from 2002 to 2006.
