Two of the Firm’s more prominent representations are as follows:
  • Representation of an attorney in the defense of a vexatious litigation/defamation lawsuit brought by the former president of the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority dealing with the ENRON debacle of $220 million.
  • Representation of a law firm in a cause of action alleging damages in excess of $30 million for civil fraud and CUTPA violations in connection with the purchase and financing of a Connecticut hotel.
One of our partners has been the Chair of DRI’s Professional Liability Committee since 2003, and has been actively involved speaking and writing on professional liability topics for DRI since 1997. Another one of our partners lectures regularly on the topic of accounting malpractice for both bar associations and professional accounting societies. He also assisted in the production of a professionally produced training tape which was distributed by American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Another attorney with our Firm is publishing a major work focused on accounting process and procedures as they relate to professional liability issues.

In addition, LITCHFIELD CAVO is called upon to act as coverage counsel in connection with claims under primary and excess umbrella policies of professional liability issued to a wide range of professionals.
