Shadi focuses her defense litigation practice in the areas of insurance coverage, bad faith claims, business litigation, intellectual property and general liability. She has experience representing and counseling private companies and individuals in regulatory compliance and business transaction matters in the United States, as well as Iran. Shadi began her legal career as a commercial law and civil rights attorney at a mid-sized law firm in Iran, where she drafted pleadings and presented oral arguments on behalf of clients before the Appellate and Supreme Courts, as well as the trial courts and Iran’s Revolutionary Courts.

Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo LLP, Shadi served as a judicial law clerk in Chicago, Illinois for the Honorable Sophia H. Hall of the Circuit Court of Cook County. During this time, she drafted opinions and performed legal research on claims concerning insurance coverage, general liability, and civil and commercial litigation matters involving issues of contract, the Illinois Biometric Privacy Act, corporate and environmental law, banking and real estate issues, and titles and trusts. Shadi also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Patricia S. Spratt of the Circuit Court of Cook County, and the Honorable William Joseph Bauer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Throughout both judicial externships, she researched complex legal issues and drafted bench memoranda for the judges.

Shadi gained experience while studying law at universities in Iran, India and the United States. While earning her juris doctorate at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, Shadi acquired a Certificate of Transactional Law that provides law students with the necessary training and experience to achieve future success at firms of all sizes and settings, such as strong analytical, drafting, writing, consultation and negotiation skills. She also earned a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States credential received via the International Association of Privacy Professionals that focuses on U.S. privacy laws and regulations, limits on private sector collection and use of data, and the government and courts’ access to private-sector information.
