Melanie currently focuses her practice on defending manufacturers in toxic tort asbestos litigation nationwide. She handles all aspects of litigation from inception through trial including conducting depositions, attending court appearances, organizing discovery, and drafting motions and pleadings. Melanie also has experience in insurance defense, counseling and defending insurers in a variety of complex coverage matters under general liability policies for first- and third-party liability actions. Her related practice experience includes handling first- and third-party claims under professional and general liability policies as a claims adjuster for a national insurance company. Melanie also has experience handling child abuse cases brought under the New York’s Child Victim’s Act.
While earning her law degree at Brooklyn Law School, Melanie gained experience while interning at the Office of the New York State Attorney General where she worked on opioid litigation against major pharmaceutical companies. She also interned at a New York City law firm that provided pro bono legal representation for social justice where she assisted in filing class-action lawsuits against city and state law enforcement agencies.
