Ericka C. Hammett

Ericka concentrates her practice primarily on insurance coverage matters, including advising insurers on first-party property, third-party commercial general liability, professional liability, toxic tort and bad faith claims. She also defends insurer-clients and their insureds at the trial and appellate court level against claims for property damage, personal injury and professional liability. In addition, Ericka is a current member of Litchfield Cavo LLP’s nationwide COVID-19 Resource Team.

Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo, Ericka practiced at a Chicago law firm where she handled insurance law matters exclusively. During this time she obtained valuable experience evaluating claims for insurance coverage under commercial general liability (CGL), as well as property and professional liability policies. Ericka also litigated and negotiated settlements of coverage actions and bad faith claims, and allocated loss for long-tail liability claims.
