David focuses his practice on complex civil litigation including commercial disputes, products liability, professional and executive liability, employment law and environmental litigation. He has experience handling coverage work in a number of jurisdictions, including Oregon and Washington. David’s diverse experience includes representing insurers in complex coverage matters and litigation, as well as advising carriers on proper claims handling practices and potential exposure related to COVID-19 claims.
David’s representative experience includes automobile manufacturers and distributors in all facets of litigation, as well as experience defending catastrophic personal injury claims and class action cases. David has substantial experience litigating First Amendment issues including those related to anti-SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) motions. In addition, David has extensive trial and arbitration experience and has authored and argued dozens of appeals, writs and dispositive motions.
David became one of the founding partners of Litchfield Cavo LLP’s California office in 2007, and continues to handle state and federal cases throughout the country. He is also a current member of the Firm’s COVID-19 Resource Team.
