Adrian is an experienced trial attorney with a diverse civil litigation practice. He has vast experience representing government entities, corporations and other clients in complex and high-exposure general liability cases. Adrian has tried cases to verdict in California state and federal courts, and provides his clients strategic counsel to manage and develop risk management strategies.

Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo LLP, Adrian was senior counsel for a national insurance defense litigation firm where he defended municipalities, private entities and school districts in high-profile litigation matters. His general liability practice involves defending high-exposure personal injury claims including auto negligence and premises liability of dangerous condition of public property litigation. Adrian also has experience handling abuse claims against private or government entities and law enforcement excessive use or civil rights claims. He has handled numerous automobile liability cases in pre-litigation accident investigations, and has defended high-exposure accidents involving wrongful death, catastrophic injuries and substantial exposure personal injury cases at trial. Adrian also has experience representing clients in non-medical professional liability cases. Additionally, he has previously served as the General Litigation Division Chief at a large California government entity.

  • Obtained jury verdict defending high-exposure abuse allegations against a school district; successfully negotiated high low agreement with Plaintiff’s counsel prior to jury rendering verdict in favor of our client.
  • Represented government entity and law enforcement officer in in automobile negligence jury trial wherein Plaintiff claimed personal traumatic brain injuries during a head on collision between the parties; the Court agreed with our attorney and rendered a defense verdict for our client.
  • Obtained defense verdict in an automobile negligence jury trial for government entity and fire fighter paramedic against Plaintiff claiming personal spinal injuries after striking our client’s emergency vehicle; the jury agreed that Plaintiff failed to yield to the paramedic’s emergency lights and sirens, and ruled in favor of our client.
  • Prevailed in automobile negligence jury trial after Plaintiff rested their case on behalf of government entity and law enforcement officer by successfully disqualifying Plaintiff’s expert witness upon voir dire examination; the Court agreed that Plaintiff’s failure to secure expert witness testimony was a required element and granted non-suit.
  • Successfully awarded costs pursuant to CCP 998 at jury trial on behalf of a government entity and law enforcement officer against plaintiff claiming spinal injuries; Plaintiff received zero dollars and admitted automobile negligence liability.
  • Represented government entity and law enforcement officer in jury trial involving alleged excessive use of force against Plaintiff claiming personal injuries comprising a broken jaw; the Court agreed with our attorney that the officer’s use of force was reasonable and necessary, and returned a defense verdict.
  • Obtained defense verdict in wrongful arrest/detention jury trial on behalf of government entity and law enforcement officers against Plaintiffs claiming psychological and emotional injuries; the Court agreed with our attorney that the officer’s use of force was reasonable and necessary, and ruled in favor of our clients.
  • Prevailed in wrongful arrest/detention jury trial on behalf of government entity and law enforcement officer against Plaintiff claiming psychological and emotional injuries after Plaintiff rested their case; the Court agreed that the officer’s conduct was lawful and granted non-suit.
  • Obtained defense verdict in wrongful/detention federal court jury trial on behalf of government entity and law enforcement officer against Plaintiff claiming physical and emotional injuries; the jury agreed that our client’s conduct was reasonable and lawful and ruled in favor of our clients.
  • Represented government and law enforcement officers in wrongful search and seizure, arrest and detention jury trial wherein Plaintiff claimed emotional and physical injuries; the jury agreed that our client’s execution of search warrant, entry and detention were lawful, and rendered a defense verdict.
