Ruzan focuses her practice on general civil liability litigation including personal injury, wrongful death, employment, real estate, premises liability and contract disputes, general business disputes and consumer protection. Ruzan has extensive experience with drafting and arguing motions in both state and federal court which includes dispositive motions. She was instrumental in obtaining a complete dismissal of a cross-complaint alleging contractual and tort violations, via anti-SLAPP motion. Ruzan has drafted and argued various motions for summary judgment, discovery motions and motions relating to expert designations and reports, among others, resulting in favorable settlements for clients.
Ruzan has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in business and real estate litigation matters, as well as in class actions involving wage and hour violations. She has experience with writs and appeals and has successfully responded to an appeal in California Court of Appeal for the Fifth District resulting in the dismissal, with prejudice, of cross-complaint alleging forcible detainer, promissory estoppel and seeking to quiet title against client.
