Ryan focuses his practice in the areas of product and premises liability in toxic tort matters, general liability and workers’ compensation. Previously, Ryan’s practice included criminal defense, representing individuals facing felony and misdemeanor charges, as well as minor ordinance and traffic violations. Ryan also represented individuals in debt collection and landlord-tenant cases filed in the greater St. Louis region.
During law school, he served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Michael M. Mihm of the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois. He also interned in the St. Louis University School of Law’s Economic and Development Clinic, where he counseled home buyers in the Habitat for Humanity organization and assisted a non-profit entrepreneur with entity formation matters. After law school, he worked as a staff attorney for ArchCity Defenders, serving as the organization’s Operations Director from March 2015 through April 2016.
After graduation from Saint Louis University, Ryan worked for a local, nonprofit organization in St. Louis, Missouri, representing indigent and homeless individuals. There he primarily handled criminal cases defending the poor against abusive traffic and ordinance violations. Ryan also defends individuals in debt collection and landlord-tenant cases. Ryan also litigated environmental claims in complex toxic tort claims. He has significant knowledge representing defendants in Madison County, St. Clair County and St. Louis City. More recently Ryan expanded his representation into general liability and workers’ compensation claims.
