Kacie’s practice includes both general civil litigation and insurance coverage matters. She has experience drafting motions and memoranda, as well as conducting legal research for discovery, as a legal intern at a civil plaintiffs’ firm.
Kacie previously served as a legal extern for Magistrate Judge F. Keith Ball of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi where she was tasked with drafting orders for prisoners’ claims involving a deprivation of civil rights, and briefing criminal cases for hearings. Prior to the District Court, Kacie served as an extern for Justice Josiah D. Coleman of the Supreme Court of Mississippi and drafted recommendations on panel memos and box opinions. She previously served as an intern in the Civil Litigation Division of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office where she drafted motions for dismissal and summary judgment in employment cases.
While earning her law degree at the University of Mississippi School of Law, Kacie was a staff editor, and was promoted to associate articles editor for the Mississippi Law Journal.
In addition to her legal practice, Kacie has experience writing federal grant application narratives on behalf of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) at a Ridgeland, Mississippi law firm. During this time, she assessed client compliance with CDFI re-certification and assisted with producing a template for and drafting CDFI community development strategies.
