Tonie Y. Mitchell

Tonie focuses her legal practice on general liability insurance defense. She is experienced in all phases of litigation, including drafting and responding to discovery, preparing dispositive motions and taking and defending depositions. She works closely with carriers and legal teams to develop efficient and effective litigation strategies.

Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo LLP, Tonie practiced at a Houston-based civil litigation firm where she handled matters involving premises liability, trucking accidents and personal injury claims. She also has a strong background in claims evaluation and risk assessment from her prior role as a senior claims specialist at a global insurance company. During that time, Tonie managed employment practices liability claims, collaborated with outside counsel and insureds to investigate claims, evaluated coverage and developed resolution strategies. Her combined experience in insurance and litigation allows her to deliver practical, results-driven representation.
