Robert has more than 30 years of experience practicing law in the private and public sectors with a concentration in workers’ compensation. Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo LLP, Robert served a three-year term as an Arbitrator at the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission (IWCC) adjudicating workers’ compensation claims.
In addition to his arbitration duties, Robert held a number of positions at the IWCC during his more than 17 year career at the Commission. Throughout this time, he held the following positions: senior staff attorney, manager of insurance compliance and executive assistant to the chairman. He also has more than 13 years’ experience in private practice as a workers’ compensation defense attorney at an Illinois-based law firm.
Robert has held an adjunct professor position at the University of Illinois Chicago John Marshall Law School for three years, instructing Workers’ Compensation Law and Alternative Means of Dispute Resolution courses. He also held an adjunct faculty member position at Triton College for four years, teaching courses in the Criminal Justice Administration program.
