Joe is an attorney in Litchfield Cavo LLP’s New York City office and concentrates his practice in the area of general liability. He represents insurance companies throughout all stages of the litigation process. Joe has experience defending depositions and corporate witnesses, as well as drafting successful motions for summary judgement, motions to dismiss and discovery motions. Additionally, he has performed numerous site visits for damage assessments in Manhattan.
After passing the bar, Joe was an associate and previously a legal assistant at a boutique insurance defense firm in Manhattan where he was assigned several high-profile matters including those involving premises liability cases and slip and fall and motor vehicle accidents. During this time, he developed strong litigation skills and a deeper understanding of the litigation process.
While earning his law degree at Maurice A. Deane School of Law, Joe interned with a criminal defense attorney and gained valuable insight into the strategies and legal approaches used by opposing counsel. This experience sparked his initial interest in defense litigation.
Prior to attending law school, Joe was a legal assistant for real estate firms on Long Island. Throughout this time, he attended loan closings for collateral document exchanges in the satisfaction of cooperative loan payoff files for major regional lenders and also managed intake preparation of real estate refinance and purchase files.
