Litchfield Cavo Celebrates 15 Years in Fort Lauderdale

Litchfield Cavo LLP is pleased to celebrate the 15th anniversary of its Fort Lauderdale office. It was the Firm’s ninth office in the United States, and the second in the State of Florida following the opening of the Firm’s Tampa office in 2005. The Fort Lauderdale office opened its doors on February 17, 2009. Today, the office has a workforce of more than 25 attorneys and support staff that provide top-tier legal service to the Firm’s clients.

In her video, Litchfield Cavo Partner Geralyn M. Passaro, the Fort Lauderdale office founding partner and only female partner at the time of the office’s opening, describes how she and Founding Partner Richard C. Cavo established the Florida office.

“Rick always believed in the philosophy, ‘build it and they will come,’” Geralyn shared. “So, that’s exactly what we did when we opened the Fort Lauderdale office, and within a few months we were inundated with work and have continued to grow over the years.”

When Geralyn was recruited to open Litchfield Cavo’s Fort Lauderdale office in 2009, she had more than 20 years of practice experience at multi-office insurance defense law firms in Florida. Since then, Geralyn has served as a Litchfield Cavo local office managing partner and a chair of the Firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, and is also a capital partner.
