vCard

Blair is a litigator and trial attorney with more than 35 years of experience with a broad spectrum of substantive practice areas while representing both plaintiffs and defendants, including 17 years navigating the federal securities laws.

Blair has favorably disposed of hundreds of cases through jury trials, bench trials, summary disposition and negotiating settlements, and had worked as part of a nationwide team of attorneys to defend the largest antitrust case in United States history against a national federation of independent and locally-operated health industry companies. He concentrates his law practice on labor and employment law, professional liability, commercial litigation, bad faith claims, executive liability and products liability matters.

Throughout his career, Blair has worked extensively with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, in addition to securities regulators in numerous foreign jurisdictions. This included obtaining reversal of negative administrative law judge opinions due to his thorough briefing and oral argument before the full SEC Commission, and obtaining emergency relief in numerous cases through evidentiary hearings before federal courts, such as preliminary injunctions, assets freezes and appointment of receivers.

While senior counsel and later as senior trial counsel, Blair investigated, and subsequently initiated the first Foreign Corrupt Practices Act case pursued by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in more than a decade. During this time, he obtained more than $75 million in recoveries for victims of securities law violations in civil injunctive actions in federal court. This work required Blair to testify in numerous criminal proceedings relating to SEC civil matters.
