Taylor handles insurance defense matters in a variety of areas including general liability, products liability and business litigation. Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo LLP, he gained experience defending government employees in federal court, managed a caseload of more than 30 cases, filed dozens of motions, and attended settlement discussions, hearings and trials.
Taylor has experience in the courtroom, as well as the boardroom. He previously held the position of in-house counsel for a tech company that developed secure file-sharing software powered by blockchain technology and cryptocurrency. During that time, Taylor was the youngest member of their executive team and routinely counseled their management on a variety of legal and regulatory issues. Additionally, he was a contributing writer in Entertainment Law: Music, and wrote on the topic of legal implications of using blockchain technology in the music industry.
Practices
- Obtained unanimous verdict in a federal jury trial wherein Plaintiff alleged physical injuries after being assaulted by a group of state correctional officers without provocation; the Court dismissed Plaintiff’s retaliation claim against individual correctional officer clients on motion for directed verdict, and the Jury found that the officers did not use excessive force under the circumstances.
