Zachary focuses his practice on multi-party litigation, including complex general liability, premises liability and insurance coverage disputes. He has extensive experience defending municipalities and law enforcement agencies in municipal tort claims, constitutional matters and civil rights litigation, including Section 1983 cases and Monell liability. Zachary also has experience handling Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) class actions and related civil rights claims in both state and federal court.

Before joining Litchfield Cavo LLP, Zachary worked as an associate attorney and previously as a law clerk at a boutique defense firm in Chicago where he litigated civil rights and insurance matters, including ADA and jail-conditions claims brought by detainees.

  • Secured favorable result on appeal for insurer in complex coverage and bad faith litigation involving misconduct claims spanning multiple decades; the Appellate Court affirmed partial summary judgment, enforcing a broad release of claims and defeating Section 155 sanctions.
