Carol Lee Chevalier

Carol Lee focuses her legal practice on construction liability and general liability matters. She gained extensive experience as defense counsel for major New York City teaching hospital clients in cases involving premises liability, construction litigation and assault. Carol Lee’s law practice for these clients includes handling matters of negligent hiring, training and supervision of employees, including libel and slander claims. She has additional experience representing social service agencies in general liability claims and those requiring preservation of her clients’ qualified privilege for social services records.

Carol Lee handles discovery, depositions, motions practice, pre-trial conferences and settlement negotiations on behalf of hospital and social services clients. As part of this defense, she is the primary contact with her clients’ general counsel, risk managers, third-party administrators, primary and excess carriers, captive insurers and their independent insurance carriers.

Carol Lee gained a diverse range of legal experience defending medical and dental malpractice cases as an associate attorney for panel counsel for the Medical Malpractice Insurance Association. She started her legal career as an associate attorney at New York City personal injury firms where she handled litigation involving medical malpractice, premises and motor vehicle liability, and subrogation for motor vehicle property damage.
