Alexa R. Ross

Alexa has extensive experience in business litigation, representing private and public entities and entrepreneurs. Her practice includes matters involving real estate, contracts, partnership disputes and law firm dissolutions, as well as fraud, trade secrets, and state and federally funded projects. Alexa also has extensive employment defense experience for private and public entities, from Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) stage through federal courts of appeal.

Having founded and managed two successful law firms and a law firm consulting business, clients value Alexa’s acumen. Drawing on her legal skills, she demonstrates a clear understanding of how businesses operate, how boards govern, and how best to defend lawsuits while maintaining client’s operations and advancing their goals.

Alexa is also recognized for her background in advising and defending school districts and charter schools in matters involving the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She has experience training, advising and defending numerous school districts and private schools, and for nine years served as general counsel to Georgia’s largest cyber charter school. Alexa also dedicates her time to assisting parents of students with disabilities in obtaining federal and state services offered within the Atlanta public school system. Additionally, she served as a founding board member of the Coralwood School and Diagnostic Center Foundation, the first full-inclusion preschool in the Georgia public schools.

As a first-year associate, Alexa first and second-chaired depositions of former Georgia governors, including former president, Jimmy Carter, in federal cases alleging that vestiges of discriminatory practices prior to Brown v. Board of Education lingered in Georgia public school systems.
