Houston Attorneys Obtain Summary Judgment for Trucking Client

On August 26, 2015, the Honorable Judge Carolyn Baker granted Litchfield Cavo LLP client’s, a trucking transport limited liability corporation, motion for summary judgment. Judge Baker presides over the 295th Judicial District Court, Harris County, Texas. She entered an order that plaintiff take nothing by his claims against our trucking transport client.

Plaintiff was an independent contractor driver employed by our domestic trucking transport client who alleged that he was injured while in the course of his employment. Plaintiff sought to recover $1.2 million in damages from our client and another defendant. Approximately 30 minutes after the second round of mediation failed to settle the case, Judge Baker granted our motion presented by our Houston attorneys Tory F. Taylor and Armando Chiu. The remaining defendant settled a week later.
