Massachusetts Attorneys Obtains Defense Verdict for Garage Management Consultant

Litchfield Cavo LLP attorneys John J. Jarosak and Bethany P. Minich recently obtained a defense verdict in favor of their client, a garage management consultant, in a month-long trial in the Suffolk County (Boston) Superior Court.

Plaintiff was beaten and sexually assaulted in May 2009 in a parking garage that was part of a hotel/garage complex in Boston and alleged serious physical and emotional/psychological injuries as a result of the sexual assault. Plaintiff brought suit against the owner and management company of the hotel/garage complex as well as our client.

Plaintiff obtained a jury verdict in her favor against the co-defendants but the jury found no liability on the part of our client.

John focuses his legal practice on professional malpractice, directors and officers liability, bad faith litigation, construction litigation, toxic tort and general liability, and has tried numerous jury trials and bench trials in these areas. John has presented on professional malpractice and bad faith litigation to insurer clients and professional associations and is a former member of the board of directors of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association and former co-chair of the Professional Liability Committee of the Boston Bar Association.

Bethany defends employers in employment litigation, including claims involving age, sex, national origin or disability discriminations, wage violations, wrongful termination and retaliations in state and federal court and before local government agencies. Her practice includes representing clients in complex litigation matters focusing on premises and general liability, coverage disputes and bad faith claims.
