Missouri Partner Featured in Workers’ Compensation Newsletter
St. Louis Partner Gregory S. Keltner recently authored an article that appeared in the December 2024 issue of Workers’ Compensation Law, a publication of the Illinois State Bar Association’s (ISBA) Section on Workers’ Compensation Law that discusses a decision issued by the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission Division of the Appellate Court involving benefits under Section 8(d)(2) and 8(e)(18).
Greg’s article, “Claimant Can Receive Benefits Under Sections 8(e)18 and 8(d)2 of the Workers Compensation Act,” follows a case wherein an underground coal miner sustained serious injuries during a catastrophic work accident, including blindness in both eyes and injuries to his spine, hip and abdomen, as well as psychological issues. In his article published by the ISBA, Greg discusses how under Illinois law, workers’ compensation benefits may cover injuries to both scheduled and non-scheduled body parts from the same incident.
Greg focuses his practice exclusively on workers’ compensation cases in central and southern Illinois. He tries numerous cases each year before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission and handles workers’ compensation appeals before the circuit and appellate courts. Greg has also tried cases before the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission involving disputed safety citations issued to mining operators by the Mine Safety and Health Administration.
