Wisconsin Attorneys Obtain Jury Verdict in Campground Development Dispute
Milwaukee Partner Stephanie Dykeman and Attorney Jon Monson recently prevailed on behalf of our civil engineer client in a Vilas County Circuit Court professional negligence/breach of contract case.
In their suit, Plaintiff, a campground developer in northern Wisconsin, sought damages related to the design and construction of their campsite. Their claims included project delays during the design phase and alleged negligence in our client’s civil engineering work, which they argued resulted in lost revenue and increased construction costs. Subsequently, Plaintiff filed suit against the prime consultant/campground designer, and attributed a portion of the alleged damages to our client.
At trial, Litchfield Cavo defense attorneys Stephanie Dykeman and Jon Monson contended that Plaintiff’s own conduct caused the losses claimed in their suit. Our attorneys also argued that Plaintiff’s claims were not supported legally or factually as Plaintiff failed to provide sufficient evidence to establish the alleged damages.
In October 2025 following a two-week trial, the jury agreed with our defense attorneys’ argument and returned a verdict in favor of our client.
