Laurie focuses her practice on a range of litigation matters including commercial liability, premises liability, product defect, personal injury and toxic tort. She also handles insurance coverage claims and defends insurance companies, insureds and self-insured corporations. In addition, Laurie represents clients in matters involving dram shop, discrimination claims and professional liability.

Laurie is involved in all phases of litigation through bench and jury trials. She has represented clients in alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation and arbitration. Additionally, Laurie has successfully argued numerous dispositive motions, including summary judgment motions and motions to dismiss. She defends her clients’ cases in Superior Courts, District Courts and United States District Courts in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as well as the Rhode Island Commission for Human Rights.

Practices

  • Granted dismissal for an unincorporated condominium association and its individual unit owners after a visitor tripped and fell on our client’s property, fracturing their ankle; the Court agreed that unit owner clients named in the suit may not be held liable, and ruled in favor of our clients.
