For nearly 20 years, Hillary has represented clients on a wide range of insurance defense matters, including construction, premises liability and motor vehicle liability claims. She also has experience handling employment liability, professional liability and products liability claims. Additionally, Hillary performs comprehensive coverage reviews and analysis on behalf of clients.
Hillary is involved in all phases of litigation—from initial claim litigation through bench and jury trials. She has represented clients in alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation and arbitration. Hillary is admitted to practice in Superior Courts, District Courts and United States District Courts, and has also appeared before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo LLP, Hillary was a director at an insurance defense firm where she focused her practice on motor vehicle liability, premises liability, general litigation, products liability, education law and employment law.

- Summary judgment affirmed on appeal for insurer client; the Massachusetts Court of Appeals held that the “automobile business” exclusion in a personal auto insurance policy precludes coverage when the insured is using a non-owned vehicle during employment at a towing and vehicle delivery business.
- Summary judgment affirmed on appeal for insurer client; the Rhode Island Supreme Court held that two subsidiaries of a parent corporation are not considered the same insurance company for the purpose of allowing an insured to stack policy benefits under G.L. 1956 § 27–7–2.1(i).
