Abbey focuses her insurance defense practice on general liability matters. She has experience representing businesses, insurers and medical professionals in all phases of litigation. Her experience includes in-depth analysis of medical records and expert materials to evaluate liability, causation and damages, as well as developing effective litigation strategies. She handles client matters in both state and federal Louisiana courts.
Prior to joining Litchfield Cavo LLP, Abbey represented plaintiffs in multi-district litigation involving products liability and consumer protection claims, and also conducted large-scale discovery and privilege analysis.
Previously, Abbey practiced at a regional defense firm where she represented clients in casualty litigation. She also served as an assistant attorney general for the State of Louisiana. During this time, Abbey defended physicians in medical malpractice actions through the Medical Review Panel process and into litigation.
