Lori focuses her practice in the areas of general liability defense and insurance coverage. She has a broad range of experience evaluating and defending state and federal cases throughout Missouri and Illinois. Lori has previous experience at a St. Louis employment defense firm, and was a partner at a national defense law firm where she handled a variety of litigation matters including general liability, construction liability, transportation liability, Section 1983 claims and medical malpractice.

Lori has successfully argued before the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals and was appointed a Special Master by Judge Steven Goldman on several cases pending in St. Louis County Circuit Court between 2014 to 2016.

While attending St. Louis University Law School, Lori served as associate editor of the Public Law Review and participated in moot court, and also gained valuable experience as a legal research and writing assistant.

Practices

  • Prevailed for construction development company after two of its employees sustained injuries while building a pole barn; the Circuit Court agreed that our written agreement regarding the distribution and payment of any remaining lien applied, granted our petition and awarded more than $1.4 million to satisfy our client’s lien.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a retail client wherein the employee of the client allegedly discriminated against a customer; the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri granted our motion for summary judgment on all five counts due to Plaintiff’s failure to establish if our client was aware of a discriminatory history with the employee.
    • Summary Judgment affirmed on appeal against customer Plaintiff who alleged our retail client ratified their former employee’s conduct, and is liable for assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress under respondeat superior; the Appellate Court held that our client is not liable under 42 U.S.C. § 1981.
  • Received favorable ruling on behalf of client regarding municipal zoning laws.
